Founded by a sound engineer on a quest for perfection, KRK quickly became a trusted innovator of professional studio monitors. For thirty years now, the acoustical engineers at KRK have leveraged increasingly high-tech tools and materials to develop new, bespoke designs delivering increasingly impressive sound clarity.
KRK FOUNDED (1986)
Keith Rowland Klawitter, working as a mix engineer for films, is frustrated by the quality of available monitors and starts tinkering with speaker designs in his garage in Huntington Beach, California. He marks his inventions with his initials, KRK, and begins selling them to colleagues.
EXPOSÉ SERIES (1996)
KRK develops one of the first lines of active studio monitors, with optimized amplifiers built in, providing incredible control. Countless professional engineers and producers still revere the E8/E8T, for their awesome dynamics and impeccable spectral balance.
V-SERIES (1997)
Developed and priced for the consumer enthusiast, the V-Series was the launchpad for KRK’s mass-market success.
POWERED ROKIT (2005)
Empowering a growing home-studio craze, KRK releases its first powered home studio monitor, offering clean, reference-quality audio at a competitive price point. Compatible everywhere from professional editing suites and bedroom studios, ROKIT eventually grows to be the #1 selling monitor line globally.
